I grew up in the Texas Panhandle and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Floriculture - WHOOP!  I started doing wedding flowers while I was in college, but it was never anything serious.  After graduation, I took a job as a florist for the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan.  For six months, I learned the ins and outs of weddings and flowers and everything else that goes along with them.  After finishing the season on Mackinac Island, I moved back to Texas - God's Country - where I started working for the Texas legislature. 

You may ask "How does a florist get into politics?"  Well, I was offered a job here by chance when I got back to Texas, and it turned out to be something I really enjoy doing.  So, I work at the capitol and do wedding and party flowers on the side.  It really works out great!!!
